FEAT Virtual Speaker Series #6: COVID-19 Update on the FFCRA, CARES, Arizona PSL and FMLA, with Attorneys Joe Kroeger and Audrey Chastain of Snell & Wilmer L.L.P.

The past seven months have been unprecedented as employers and employees alike adapt to the changing work environment and evolving regulatory responses to the COVID pandemic.  Complicating this business environment are interactions between complex and interconnected multi-jurisdictional laws and regulations whose compliance obligations were nuanced long before the expansive and fast-tracked policy responses to COVID were deployed.  Now more than ever, understanding your organization’s compliance obligations is of critical importance.

Join FEAT, Snell & Wilmer Managing Partner Joe Kroeger, and attorney Audrey Chastain for a conversation on the intersections between sweeping COVID-specific legislation like the FFCRA and CARES Acts and existing Arizona state and Federal legislation including the recent Paid Sick Leave (PSL), COBRA and the FMLA.  CPE credit is available for this event.

About our Speakers:


Joe Kroeger is the managing partner of Snell & Wilmer’s Tucson office. He is a go-to labor and employment counselor and litigator with a national practice. Ranked as a 2020 Best Lawyer in America in the areas of Employment Law–Management, Labor Law–Management, and Litigation–Labor and Employment, Joe has a reputation as a problem-solver for a wide variety of matters, both big and small. As a former in-house counsel, Joe Kroeger brings a corporate perspective to the practice of law to best serve the needs of his clients in an effective and cost-efficient manner. His practice focuses heavily on the prevention side of employment claims and positioning problem employment situations for the best possible defense. He represents employers in a variety of areas, including employment discrimination and harassment, wrongful discharge, breach of contract, misappropriation of trade secrets, non-competition/non-solicitation matters, social media, alternative dispute resolution and arbitration agreements, labor arbitrations, NLRB charges, and other related areas. Joe is also a member of the firm’s Privacy and Data Security group, and has experience in issues related to the Fair Credit Reporting Act, HIPAA, the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, employee background checks and drug testing, employer protection of intellectual property, e-discovery and other employment-related privacy issues. He further counsels and advises employers with respect to all of the above areas. Joe is a graduate of Stanford Law School. He is licensed to practice in Arizona, California, Colorado and Illinois.


Audrey Chastain is a labor and employment attorney at Snell & Wilmer’s Tucson office. She has assisted her clients in defending against harassment, discrimination and retaliation claims under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act. Audrey has also represented employers in various areas, including breach of contract, wage and hour matters, misappropriation of confidential information/trade secrets, non-competition/non-solicitation matters, National Labor Relations Board charges, confidentiality matters, Family and Medical Leave Act matters, and other related areas. Audrey is a graduate of the University of Arizona.
